It's time to branch out from postcard swaps, and start exchanging other things, too. This is my first attempt at a swap for collage goodies. It will be open to just 10 people on the good swapper's list. Please be patient if you did not receive an invitation to join this swap, or if it's already full when you get here. If this first swap goes well, I hope to do another one that's open to everyone. This swap is for flat paper items only. To ensure that everyone has a positive experience, and receives relatively the same amount of stuff in their return packages, I've put together a list of acceptable collage materials and ephemera for this swap, as well as one of items to avoid.
Please review this information carefully before you sign up:. Use your common sense when filling your bags. If it's easy to find, or can be purchased at any craft or big box store, we all probably have it already. Please don't use this as an excuse to pass on ugly, boring, or useless materials.
I like to buy pretty patterned paper napkins at the party store. They come in packs of a dozen, but I really only need three or four of each design.
I will happily include some of those extras in my swap bags. Some pages from those books would be good to include in a swap bag. Swap packages must arrive before May 27th, Packages that arrive after that date will be returned to the sender, unswapped. Then I'll put your address labels and stamps on them, and send them to you in the mail.

I signed up. Should I put my name, or my return address, on the left side of my cards? Please do not use this swap purely as a promotional tool.
Do not advertise your various social media accounts or online shops in your message. Nobody wants to receive advertising in the mail! Do all my cards have to be the same design? Can I use watercolor paper to make my postcards? Make sure whatever you use is sturdy enough to go through the mail, but not too thick.
Can I embellish my postcards with ribbon, yarn, buttons, or other dimensional items? This is not a greeting card swap. Postcards are FLAT. Your postcards must be flat enough to be sent through the postal machines as postcards. If your postcards are not flat, they will be returned to you, unswapped.
Can I send my cards in individual cello envelopes? This swap is for glue cards to be mailed as postcards. It is not for postcards to be mailed in envelopes of any kind. If you send me cards in individual cello or any other type envelopes, I will either remove them, or, if they cannot be mailed safely without the envelope, return them to you unswapped. Save us both a headache, and make FLAT postcards that can be mailed as postcards!
Lisa, I hope my cards and how I sent them past muster. I thought the message part was optional until I read your latest email. I was confused by how you needed the cards sent in a paper envelope as a package. No wonder you get miffed. I love glue cards now and plan to make them for my holiday greetings.
